The Grape Growers Association of Nova Scotia (GGANS) was established in 1982 and now consists of over 50 growers and over 400 acres of grapes.  Grape production is concentrated within the Annapolis Valley, the Bear River Valley, the LaHave River Valley, the Malagash Peninsula and Marble Mountain in Cape Breton.

Winery Association of Nova Scotia

The Winery Association of Nova Scotia was formed in 2002 to represent the interests of wine producers in Nova Scotia, to serve as a voice for local industry and to promote the growth and development of Nova Scotia wines. As a first order of business, a set of quality standards was developed.

Agrapoint

Agricultural consulting company firm located in Nova Scotia with offices in Kentville, Truro, Cape Breton, as well as New Brunswick.  AgraPoint coordinates the vineyard certification program and its associated inspections on an annual basis. Specialists also issue 2-4 e-newsletters per growing season, organize vineyard walks, participate on GGANS/WANS committees (eg. NSCC grape course committee, GGANS/WANS research committee, GGANS/WANS extension committee), and maintain the Nova Scotia Wine Grape Production Guide which is the textbook for the Kingstec grape course.  Specialists are also active consultants working with numerous growers on site suitability, vineyard development and management. Two specialists also are certified nutrient management (NMP) specialists and have developed a number of NMP’s for industry members.
